Small World – The Google Translate Restaurant

Client: Google
Agency: m ss ng p eces
Role: Illustrator
2016

In celebration of Google Translate's 10th anniversary, m ss ng p eces and PARTY New York opened Small World, a free pop-up restaurant in NoLita, NYC for four days in April 2016. Every menu item was written in a foreign language, and the waitstaff spoke only in their native tongues. Guests had to use Google Translate to order. Reservations filled within an hour.

As the lead illustrator, I designed the interior and exterior murals, menus, and a photo wall, and hand-painted the donut cart that distributed free donuts to passersby on the street each day.
