How to Talk to Your Kids About Race

I directed and animated this episode of Home School, The Atlantic's animated series about parenting, in which author Jemar Tisby talks about how to have honest conversations with kids about race, from experiential learning to watching classic animated films together. As he puts it, "The worst conversation adults can have with kids about race is no conversation at all." I had a lot of fun designing the whole cast of characters for this one, from the parents and kids and the fairy tale scenes, and working out the storyboards so the visuals could support Tisby's ideas. This film was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick.
