When Tony Award-winning playwright and activist V approached me to bring her poem to life as an animated film, it was an easy yes. The film was created for One Billion Rising for Justice, a global campaign to end violence against women.
I storyboarded and designed the film with additional design help from my brother Barry Bruner, animating in Photoshop and After Effects. The visual approach tries to hold the darkness and trauma in Eve's story with compassion.
V said of the film: "Jordan totally realized this vision with her mystical, original, humorous, gorgeous art. She made a film which is both a dream and a poetic call for justice."
